Hi my name is Marianne Barker. I am a mother of a three year old, and I have one on the way in a few days. I am lyed off of work, and so is my husband. Its difficult but we will make it through, we always do. Going to school through the net is the best that way I can take care of my child and myself. While my husband goes to look for another job. I would look for one but whats the point if you will have to take off right away.

Hi everyone, my name is Yari and i am a single mother of two kiddies ages 13 and 8. Its hard finding time to study with a teenager entering High School and having to attend open houses and stuff and working. But so far i have managed to sign up at ashworth and get through my first three lessons so i guess i am doing something right LOL.

I wish everyone all the best with their studies.

Yari =)

It is very difficult to start school again when you have children and work, maybe a husband or a wife. Alot of time goes towards all that stuff. As individuals, it is a proven factor that each person should take a bit of 'Me Time'. Life can be stressful and exhausting! As long as we know how long we have to complete each unit, then we should try and break that into a couple days a week around our scheduals.
I hope all of you moms are having a fabulous day! God Bless you ALL.

Hello everyone,
I have really enjoyed reading your postings, and I'd like to share mine as well....
My name is Brenda and I am a mother of a 9 year-old son. I work full-time as a Supply Chain Manager and started Ashworth College to further my education, enhance my career opportunities, and to be a good role to my son. I had high expectations of Ashworth before I began, but as each course is completed, I'm enjoying it more and more. I am in my 10th course right now, almost halfways finished with the A.S. of Business Management... I can't wait to see what's on the other side of the rainbow! I am a firm believer that we can never know enough!
Good luck to everyone,
Brenda

Marianne - Hi, my name is Brenda. I just posted a reply to this and saw your posting. I think I have a wonderful job opportunity for you... I am also a Mary Kay consultant, besides working as a Supply Chain Manager, and raising a special-needs 9 year-old son... I have been a MK consultant for about a year and a half now, and it is a great source of income, especially now with the economy, you with almost-2 kids and being laid off of work. You can email me at bmahecha@marykay.com or visit my website at http://www.marykay.com/bmahecha if you'd like to learn more about the MK opportunity. I wish I had come across this opportunity when my son was younger!
Take care,
Brenda

I am enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program and once I am finished with my enlistment in the Air Force I plan on teaching either Kindergarten or first grade, I love children and truly believe that they all deserve a great education.

Hello Erica and welcome to Ashworth. Whooah on the active duty...You defintely have your work cut out for you with being a wife, mom, and military. Anyway, welcome to the family. If you have questions relating to your courses, i.e., shipment of books, your account, grades, etc., , we have the forum for Customer Service. We also have study halls for questions regarding course assignments. In addition, there is a general Q&A forum. If your question doesn't fit any of the other forums, you can post in that one.

Remember to never post your student ID in the open forums. This is for your security. Also, if you need to contact staff, it is quicker to send a PM to any of the following and be sure to include your student ID in the subject line. This makes it easier for staff to help you with any problems that cannot or should not be addressed here on the forums.

If one desires to teach, then one must have a passion for learning!

ONLY YOU CAN HELP PREVENT CHILD ABUSE!

Image

If you need help or have questions about child abuse or child neglect, call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) then push 1 to talk to a counselor.

The Hotline counselors are available 365 days a year to help kids, and even adults who are concerned about kids they suspect are being abused or neglected. You can call this number if you live in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The call is free and anonymous. (The Hotline counselors don't know who you are and you don't have to tell them.) There won't be a charge for the call on your telephone bill if you use a regular phone or a pay phone. If you use a mobile phone or cell phone, there may be a charge and it may show up on the telephone bill. Don't use a mobile or cell phone if you want to be sure your call is a secret. But please...do not make prank calls to the Hotline. This will tie up the phones and keep us from talking to someone who really needs help right away.

I want to add it is very challenging to attend to my school work and to still show my kids all of my attention! But the most important part is that I am in Ashworth medical office assistant and HR mgmt proagram and im studying to become more self-suffient. Family plays a humongous role in my life and it is in my morals and values. I work hard to stick my family together and I believe in the end it will surely PAY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
