How much more is government planning on taking away from us

Postby BettyMydland » October 11th, 2009, 8:36 am

Dawn, I checked this out at Snopes Urban legends and this is what they had to say:

A report that the ACLU wants to remove cemetery crosses - This story regards an email that claims the ACLU has filed a suit to ban crosses for servicemen at federal cemeteries. According to the information provided by Snopes, the ACLU refutes that claim.

One thing about Snopes reporting is that they investigate completely before they announce truth or fiction of content..I will continue to research but as of now, my circle of military family and friends have not heard of this action...

ONLY YOU CAN HELP PREVENT CHILD ABUSE!

Image

If you need help or have questions about child abuse or child neglect, call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-4-A-CHILD (1-800-422-4453) then push 1 to talk to a counselor.

The Hotline counselors are available 365 days a year to help kids, and even adults who are concerned about kids they suspect are being abused or neglected. You can call this number if you live in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The call is free and anonymous. (The Hotline counselors don't know who you are and you don't have to tell them.) There won't be a charge for the call on your telephone bill if you use a regular phone or a pay phone. If you use a mobile phone or cell phone, there may be a charge and it may show up on the telephone bill. Don't use a mobile or cell phone if you want to be sure your call is a secret. But please...do not make prank calls to the Hotline. This will tie up the phones and keep us from talking to someone who really needs help right away.

We have fought for our right to freedom of religion or freedom in general. I see no point in removing a cross from someone's headstone who was a Christian, a Star of David for someone who was Jewish, or any religious symbol that the fallen took faith in. I think we should try to be more tolerant of others beliefs. I'm Buddhist, but feel it is very important to honor our fallen service men and women's wishes for their burials. During deployments, sometimes faith is all we have. Don't take that away.
